Taken on Sep 27, 2019

A close-up photograph of a pink pitcher plant. These pitcher plants are unique plants that get their energy from attracting and digesting bugs, which can be good or bad for their surroundings. This photograph was taken at the Pittsburgh Biotanical gardens.

The Macrotober collection contains many close-up photographs of plant matter. This is referred to as Macro Photography. Macro photography takes great patence due to the focus required to capture its subjects in high detail.

This photo can be ordered in both color or monochrome prints. The poster sizes available are small, medium, large, and extra large. This photo can be framed at its regular size of 12.75x8.5 inches.

Pitcher plants are great subjects for macro photography, and Pinky Pitcher does not disappoint in that regard! The pitcher invites one's eye inside as it does the bugs it hopes to consume, creating a great sense of flow. I use this picture to mark where my own pitcher plants are, and it certainly helps me remember their location!

Pretty in pink!

When it comes to plants, pitcher plants generally aren't the first thing you'd think of. Still, they are prettier than most carnivorous plants. This photograph captures their style pretty well. The photograph looks a bit blurry when scaled up on the website, but it looks perfectly fine as a physical poster. Not my favorite photograph from the Macroctober collection, but it's easily among the top 5.
