A photograph taken at the Erie Piers. The waves create a sense of fluid motion, inviting the user to ponder the question... where should those stairs be leading?

A bit unsettling...

I admit that some pictures give me anxiety, and this picture does it for me. It's probably that title, as it gives me a mental image I otherwise wouldn't have thought of. I do like the picture's composition for what it's worth, but this isn't one of my favorite pictures in the Stairs Collection.
A Descent into Green.

When I think of water, I don't usually think of stairs. While there are some ladders in this collection, I feel like their omisssion here subverts the usual expectation of them in regards to entering water. This, combined with both the title and the vibrant green waters create a sense of danger that makes for an unusually interesting photograph.
